Website visits and referring sources

Statistics cover successful page requests over the last 7 calendar days, using Polish time. These are not unique visitors: reloads and test visits also count, while some cached views do not reach the logs. Recognised bots are excluded. An unspecified referrer can also mean a visit from an app or a link that hides this information.

All-time statistics cover available logs and subsequent requests retained in an aggregate counter. The first recorded request date marks the start of this summary, not the website launch date.

Cameras on the map

Approximate locations of landmarks and views, not exact camera mounting positions. Overlapping numbers are separated by at most 20 pixels; a small dot marks the stored location. Zoom in to distinguish nearby points. A plus sign indicates several cameras with the same stored location; click to see their list. Numbers and colours match the cards below.

Map tiles: OpenStreetMap. Approximate points: WorldCam and OpenStreetMap. The map loads directly from external services.

Streets and traffic first, followed by panoramas and outdoor views, nature, and interiors. Within groups, views run roughly from the centre to the outskirts. Numbers match the map; temporary availability does not change the order.

Possible research and teaching uses

Possible uses include no-reference image quality assessment, HLS playback, buffering and stream interruptions, and the effect of video quality on detection accuracy. These relate to the QoE team's image quality research and the laboratory's teaching activities.

Possible student projects at AGH would focus primarily on counting cyclists, with an extension to other road users: pedestrians, scooter users, motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks and buses.

These projects could compare traffic volumes, composition and directions across selected cameras, assessing accuracy against manual counts. Cyclist counts could also be compared with ZTP traffic measurements, where measurement locations and periods match. Categories should suit the camera view and image quality; not every camera can reliably distinguish all types of road users.

The analysis would produce aggregate results, without face recognition, reading vehicle registration plates or tracking individuals across cameras. The directory itself does not perform these analyses. Before collecting images or starting a study, the operator's terms, required permissions, data scope and privacy safeguards must be established separately.

YouTube previews briefly start and pause the official player, one camera at a time and without sound. The image remains in the player and is not copied to the server. The pause time appears below the camera. If your browser blocks autoplay, the operator's thumbnail remains.

For the three AGH cameras, the server retains only the latest frame, including after a restart. Updates happen on page visits, at most once per hour per camera, with no background retrieval when there are no visitors. The previous image remains during an update. The timestamp is the retrieval time; an older frame may remain if the source fails. Previews for Kościuszko Mound, Tyniec and the Łagiewniki basilica are obtained directly in the browser without storage on the directory's server. The Kraków illustration is a placeholder, not a camera frame.

The last retrieved frame remains visible during updates. If the source allows the browser to save the image, a reduced preview is stored locally on this device and shown on the next visit with its retrieval date. For sources that block saving, the frame remains available only until the page is reloaded. Paused YouTube previews are not saved.

An arrow extending beyond the frame indicates an off-map camera. Its number is an edge indicator, not the camera location. Zoom or pan to see the stored position.
